Butter Chicken Pizza | Pan Pizza

To Marinate Chicken

  • 200 gms Chicken(boneless) cut in small pieces

  • 1 tsp Ginger Garlic paste

  • 1/2 tsp Red Chilli powder

  • 1 tsp Tandoori Powder/Garam Masala

  • 1/4 tsp Turmeric Powder

  • Salt

  • 1/2 Lime

To Make the Pizza dough

  • 1 tbsp Yeast

  • 1 tsp Sugar

  • 1/2 cup warm water

  • 2 cups All purpose flour (Maida)

  • Salt

  • 1 cup or less Warm water for forming a dough

To make the Butter Chicken GRAVY

  • 2 tbsp Butter + 2 tbsp Butter for final gravy

  • 1 Big Onion roughly chopped

  • 2 Medium Tomatoes roughly sliced

  • 15 Cashew nuts

  • 1 tbsp Ginger Garlic paste

  • 1 & 1/2 tsp Garam Masala

  • 1 & 1/2 tsp Red Chilli powder

  • 1/2 cup Water

  • 1 tbsp Sugar

  • Salt as per taste

  • 1 tsp Vinegar

  • Pinch of Kasuri Methi leaves

Pizza Toppings

  • Shredded mozzarella

  • Capsicum cut in julienne

  • Onions

  • Oregano

Step by Step

  1. In a bowl take chicken pieces and add ginger garlic paste, red chilli powder, turmeric, tandoori masala or garam masala, lime water and salt as per taste. Mix it all well and let it marinate for around 1 hour

  2. For the pizza dough, first take the yeast in a small bowl, add sugar and warm water, stir it well and leave it aside for 5 mins until the yeast gets active and turns frothy.

  3. In a big bowl take all purpose flour(maida), add little salt, mix it well and now add the active yeast to the flour and again mix it well, now keep adding warm water in parts to form a dough and knead it well. Now grease the bowl and brush the dough with some oil, cover it with a damp cloth and let it the dough prove well /1 hour.

  4. Now heat a pan and add butter, now add the onion and fry until it turns golden brown, now add ginger garlic paste and fry further for another 1 minute. Now add the tomatoes, garam masala, red chilli powder and mix it well and let it fry for another 2 minutes. Now add water and add the cashew nuts, sugar and salt as per taste,vinegar and let it cook for anther 10 - 15 minutes.

  5. Once you find the water evaporating, turn the heat off and let the mixture cool off. Once its cool, add it to a mixer grinder and blend it well to a fine paste.

  6. In the same pan add 2 tbsp of butter and add the marinated chicken to the pan and fry it well until it turns golden brown, once the chicken is fried well, take it off heat and then in a strainer pour the makhni puree which was ground earlier and strain the mixture well directly into the fried chicken pan, turn on the flame also sprinkle some kasuri methi leaves, and let the butter chicken gravy cook for around 5 - 7 minutes.

  7. The pizza dough once it's proved, knead it well and then form ball shapes out of them in order to roll it to a pizza bread (the thickness of the pizza bread depends on your preference), Poke some holes lightly into the bread using a fork.

  8. Now heat a pan and first fry the top portion of the bread until you get a light golden glaze and then flip the bread, turn the flame off, spread the butter chicken and the gravy over the pizza, and then add the shredded mozzarella over the sauce, then add capsicum and onion and any other topping you'd like to add to the pizza, turn on the flame to a low fire and let the pizza cook until the bottom portion of the bread turns crispy and the cheese is melted.

  9. Your Butter Chicken Pizza is now ready, sprinkle some oregano and it's ready to be served.
