Healthy Palak Paneer without Cream

Ingredients


  1. 1 bunch of Palak

  2. 300 gms Paneer

  3. 1 & 1/2 cup Water

  4. 2 whole Green Chillies

  5. Salt

  6. 2 tbsp Ghee

  7. 1/2 tsp Cumin seeds (Jeera)

  8. 1 Medium Onion chopped finely

  9. 1 Bay Leaf

  10. 2 Green Cardamom

  11. 3 Pepper Corns

  12. 2 Cloves

  13. 2 Inch Cinnamon Stick

  14. 4 Garlic Cloves finely chopped

  15. 1 tsp Turmeric powder

  16. 1 tsp Garam Masala


Step by Step


  1. Wash the palak well, add it to pan, pour 1 cup water, some salt and 2 green chillies and let it boil for 5 mins, take it off heat to cool off.

  2. Grind the boiled palak, chillies to a fine paste.

  3. Heat some ghee/oil in a pan and add cumin seeds (jeera), once it's roasted, add onions, bay leaves, pepper corns, cinnamon, cardamom, cloves and chopped garlic and fry it well till the onions and garlic turn golden brown.

  4. Once the onion and garlic turn golden brown add turmeric and garam masala and fry the masalas well. Then add the palak paste to the pan and mix it well.

  5. Add in some salt and the paneer to the pan and stir lightly or the paneer might break.

  6. Add half cup water, stir it and let it cook with the lid covered for 7 - 8 mins

  7. Palak Paneer is now ready. Serve it with some jeera rice or phulka roti
