  • 500 gms Chicken

  • 1 Medium Onion sliced

  • 4 Big Garlic Cloves roughly sliced

  • 1 tsp Jeera(Cumin)

  • 15 Peppercorns

  • 5 Cloves

  • 2 inch Cinnamon

  • 1/2 Cup Scrapped Coconut

  • 2 pinch Kasuri Methi

  • 6 Kashmiri Chillies

  • 2 tbsp Coriander Seeds/Powder

For Marination

  • 1/2 tsp Turmeric

  • 1 tsp Salt

  • 1/2 tsp Garam Masala

For Tadka

  • Cooking Oil

  • 1 Small Onion Finely Chopped

  • 1/2 inch Ginger sliced

  • 6 - 8 Curry Leaves

  • 1/2 tsp Turmeric Powder

  • 1 Small Tomato finely chopped

  • Salt to cook tomatoes faster

3/4 Cup Coconut Milk for Gravy

Step by Step

  1. Marinate the Chicken with turmeric, garam masala and some salt and leave it aside for 45 mins.

  2. Heat some ghee or oil in a pan and add jeera, garlic, onions, cinnamon, cloves, peppercorns and cook it until the onions turn golden brown, meanwhile add scrapped coconut and stir it well, add kasuri methi, and hand break the kashmiri chillie and add it to the pan, add coriander powder or seeds and mix the masala well and roast it well until golden brown and take it off heat, let it cool off, once the dry masala is cool add it to the mixer grinder add very little water and grind it to a fine paste.

  3. Heat some oil in the same pan and add the marinated chicken cover with the lid and let it cook for around 2 mins, now add the masala paste in th pan and stir it well with the chicken pieces, add some water to the grinder jar shake it well and pour it in the pan, now add some salt as per taste, stir it well, Cover with lid and let it cook for 15 mins medium low flame.

  4. For the tadka, in a small vessel, heat some oil and add some finely chopped onions, ginger and stir it well now add some curry leaves, turmeric powder and finely chopped tomatoes and add little salt to fasten the process of cooking the tomatoes.

  5. After cooking chicken for 15 mins, add coconut milk and stir it well, now add the tadka to the chicken curry, stir well and let it cook further for 5 more mins with lid covered.

  6. 5 mins later your Kori Gassi is now done. Serve it hot with some neer dosa
