One Pot Poha | Kanda Batata Poha | Indian Breakfast

  1. 1/2 tsp Jeera (Cumin Seeds)

  2. 1 Medium Potato diced (small)

  3. 1 Medium Onion chopped

  4. 3 tbsp Cooking Oil

  5. 2 tbsp Coriander Leaves chopped

  6. 1 Lemon juice

  7. Salt as per taste

  8. Thick Poha (Rice Flakes) 2 cups

  9. 2 Green Chillies chopped

  10. 7 - 8 Curry Leaves

  11. 1/2 tsp Turmeric Powder

Step by Step

  1. Wash the Poha and immediately drain out the water

  2. Heat oil in a pan, then add jeera (cumin seeds), potatoes and cover it with a lid and let it cook. (Keep checking to see the potatoes are not sticking to the pan and let it fry well)

  3. Once the Potatoes are 60% cooked, add the chillies, curry leaves and onions, stir it well, cover with lid and let it cook for 2 mins.

  4. Once the onions turn translucent, add turmeric, salt as per taste and the poha (rice flakes), coriander and spread lime juice and stir it really well.

  5. Now cover with lid and let it cook for 2 - 3 mins on very low flame

  6. Your Poha is now ready. Sprinkle some freshly chopped coriander and serve hot with Masala Chai!
